I’m looking for some cute craft ideas that don’t require a lot of materials. I have a ton of scrapbooking paper, a roll of magnets and some random household items I could use ( I have a lot of aluminum cans that I could use for a recycled art project). I’m looking for something that’s not to corny and that the kids would have fun with. Any ideas would be great!
I have always enjoyed origami. Paper mache is fun too – use household items to have them build sculptures and then cover them with paper mache. You could paint the finished product or not. It could be a group or individual project.

Years ago I bought a kit called "Funvelopes." I have made these with classes of all ages.
You get template. We tear the kids workbook pages out of the workbooks, so I saved the back covers and traced the template so each child could have their own. You use old calendar pages, old maps, sheet music, cool magazine covers (the actual pages are usually too thin.) You basically, trace, cut, fold, glue. Then if the picture is too dark, you use a file folder label or something similar to put the address. These can actually be mailed. We spent one day writing letters and the next making the envelopes and I mailed them out for the kids. They were so excited. Many of the kids even made their own envelopes for valentines. It’s a great recycling project. I recommend using a glue stick instead of Elmer’s just because it is cleaner.
